Hello, folks, it's David Wheeler here in Spruce Pine, North Carolina with Muck you. We've got another great show today and I'm going to throw it over to my co partner, co host Mo Davis. Take it, Mo.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah, thanks, David. And welcome back, everybody. Another beautiful day here in western North Carolina.
Normally I'm down south of David Nashville, but today coming to you from a beautiful Beech Mountain, North Carolina, where it's Woolly Worm Festival weekend. So if you haven't experienced the Woolly Worm Festival basketball, you got to get up to Banner Elk and take it in.
We're also here in peak leaf season. So again, compared to last year after the hurricane was really quite a change that a year's made.
As David said, we got another great episode for you and we have a repeat guest. One of the first episodes we did back in January.
You may recall that we had Pam Hemphill on who was people remembered as the Maga grandma who was there on January 6, ended up doing some time in in prison and saw the light and switched sides and she's back with us today. So, Pam, thanks for taking time to do this.
Pamela Hemphill:Thank you for the opportunity. I appreciate it.
Colonel Moe Davis:Well, welcome back. It I know a lot's happened since January.
You know, Trump has now been in office for a couple of months and hey, I was interested, I follow you on Twitter and I noticed on your, your title you also go by Pam Tifa and you do realize that can they can get your house rated, don't you?
Pamela Hemphill:Oh, good. I hope so. I, yeah, call me Antifa. Well, Mega gave me the new name Pam Tifa and now they've changed it though to Grantifa.
And I said, no, I don't want to be no granny anymore. That's what you gave me in the beginning. I'm staying with Pam Tifa.
Colonel Moe Davis:There you go. Hey, well, listen, I know since we spoke with you last time, you got a letter in June from Mike Pence. So.
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah.
Colonel Moe Davis:Can you tell folks a little bit about that?
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah, it came in the mail and I thought it was advertising and I wasn't even going to open it up thinking this is just advertising. Then I thought, well, maybe it's a good cause I can contribute to. And I open it up and I read it and I said to my boyfriend and is this real? Is this?
What is this? I couldn't believe it. So he's reading, he's checking it all out and he's yep, this is real. I couldn't believe it. I start crying.
It was it was amazing because it's been so many times with this smear campaign. I just want to give up. I'm so tired of these maggots and what they're doing to me and threatening me.
And, you know, Tario, the proud boys have threatened me, and I'm just get fed up sometimes. Is anybody supporting me? And when that letter came, I thought, wow, you know what, what did Vice.
Colonel Moe Davis:President Pence say in the letter?
Pamela Hemphill:Hold on. Michael, can you give me the letter? It's right there. He's going to get it. I have it framed on the wall.
Colonel Moe Davis:I don't blame you. Yeah, Yeah. I never was a big fan of. Of Mike Pence, but that day he.
Pamela Hemphill:Did the right thing.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah, you got to get him. Yeah, he did the right thing on January 6th. And he continued.
I mean, there are things I disagree with him on, but he seems like a, you know, an honorable man, so.
Pamela Hemphill:Absolutely.
Colonel Moe Davis:And again, he didn't have to take the time to send you that letter. And I think it says something about him that. That he did.
Pamela Hemphill:You want me? Like me to read it?
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah, if you would. I think it's. That's pretty neat.
Pamela Hemphill:Dear Pamela, I'm writing to express my admiration for your decision to refuse a presidential pardon and accept responsibility for your actions on January 6th.
January 6th was a tragic day, but I will always believe that I did my duty that day to see that the peaceful transfer of power under the Constitution of the United States. Your honorable decision speaks volumes about your commitment to the rule of law, and I wanted to pass along my genuine respect.
I am certain that your willingness to accept responsibility has inspired many Americans by your example of integrity and faith. May God bless you and your family with every blessing in yours in the years ahead. Most Sincerely, Mike Pence, 48th Vice President, United States.
Colonel Moe Davis:Wow. Again, I think this says a lot about him that he took the time to do that. Good on Mike Pence once again.
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah. Hey, but listen, more recently, I know you've been out and out in the war zone out in Portland. So can you tell the listeners how bad it is out there?
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah, I have to laugh because see what happened when Trump's announcing that Antifa is a terrorist organization and that he's going to arrest anybody that's even associating with them. You know, all the rhetoric he put out there, I thought there's something wrong here, because that's what they're doing to January 6th. Right.
They're rewriting history. They lie about everything. You know, he does. So I said, I gotta. I Gotta go there and see for myself. So I thought about it for a day.
I called my boyfriend and he said, yeah, but be careful, because, you know, it could be tough out there. I said, well, I'm not afraid of the protesters. No, I'm talking about ice. Ice.
So I went there with, you know, thinking, if it is violent, if there's anything that's going on, like throwing glass bottles at cars or spitting on officers or anything that's illegal and not a peaceful protest, I'm leaving and I'm going to report it. I got there, it was unbelievable. The people are so friendly, so they do not want nobody. If you are acting out of line, they have you leave.
They really do their own protesters. I've talked to so many. There were doctors, I met several doctors, several accountants. You name the occupation is out there.
Of course, there's a few homeless, but, you know, the majority of the group are regular citizens like you and me. I've met many of them. Some came and wearing suits, you know, but there's no violence. I stayed six days.
I came back because my boyfriend came back from dc, Picked him up. We went back another six days, same thing over. And then of course, the frogs came along and all the animals.
David Wheeler:Right.
Pamela Hemphill:That was so cool.
Colonel Moe Davis:So, you know, the rumor was that you. You went out there for the naked bike ride.
Pamela Hemphill:Oh, yeah, No, I had heard about that and I thought, this is going to be weird. I've never seen something like this. It was nothing. What? I thought it was a message, a wonderful message.
I got the whole thing on video, but I gotta put a little thing on it because, you know, children can't see it.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah.
Pamela Hemphill:I think I'm allowed to put it on X with a certain. Where you put nudity, you know.
Colonel Moe Davis:Right.
Pamela Hemphill:I got the whole thing from the very beginning and just it was amazing message. And not all of them were nude, you know.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah. But yeah, I guess on January 6th, you guys didn't consider doing the. A naked bike ride in dc, did you?
Have been a little nippy in DC in January, I'm sure.
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah.
Colonel Moe Davis:So listen, you know, a lot's happened over the last few months since we spoke with you. So what. What's your take on these first eight or nine months of Trump too?
Pamela Hemphill: It's Project:The next one is Our Guns are Coming. They'll come up with some excuse why you can't own a gun. I think it's Pam Bondi pretty sure is collecting all the information of who owns a gun.
So this, this was in the, the protest in Portland. All the protests against ICE was in the manual too. So it's, there's no guesswork here. You just read that book and you'll know what he's up to next.
David Wheeler:So where, where do you think this is all headed, Ms. Bam?
Pamela Hemphill:You know, it's kind of hard to predict that at this moment, but I think history has shown us that fascists have never won. The people are standing up more than ever.
We've, we've caught on to their GasLighting and Portland Ice Facility is a definite proof, you know, it's a movie out there that, you know, it's, it's ridiculous. And I think we've caught on to Trump's gaslighting and lies and I think even some of the magazines are starting to catch on.
But I, I feel like it's going to still be rough, but we got to stand our ground and keep pushing back no matter what. No matter what. Because his, his goal is to scare us. They don't want us out to, you know, protest tomorrow, the no Kings protest.
They want us all scared because Trump's going to come and bring cops and stop the protest. Well, whatever. No, that ain't going to stop me. I'll still go out there.
I think, I think millions of us will still show up because that's, we have to do the opposite of what he's trying to do is stop us and that's what he's scared of. He hasn't been able to stop us. Even at the Portland ICE facility, they smoke bombed, which I got with them and they pushed us down two blocks.
I thought they're going to leave. The protesters leave after that and. Excuse me. No, they come right back. They came right back. Pushing back again. It's amazing to watch them it.
David Wheeler:And were you there when Miss Cosplay Christy Gnome was up on the roof looking at the guy in the banana suit?
Pamela Hemphill:No, those are the two days I came back.
Colonel Moe Davis:Oh, shoot, I wish you would have.
David Wheeler:Been there and flipped her the bird for me.
Pamela Hemphill:That's the chicken. That's the chicken. I know him.
David Wheeler:Yeah, yeah, that's. Oh yeah, it was a chicken. You're right, it wasn't a banana.
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah, he's awesome guy, very intelligent, level headed.
David Wheeler:Yeah. So tell us a little bit more about these frogs. I know we're kind of giggling about it, but it's really Taken on as the mascot for the resistance.
Right now, tell us about those people that you met and, and their personalities and what they're doing and where they're from.
Pamela Hemphill:Just like me. They're not any different than me. They're just average citizens because that word antifa is just insane.
But they're just people like you and me in a frog suit standing up for the democracy. There's not any different than anyone else. I talked to a few, I got my pictures with them.
They're just average people, you know, knowing that this is what we need to do, we got to stand up against tyranny. And that's. This is their job, this is their message, that you can't intimidate us no matter what. We'll just laugh at you.
And that's why I laugh a lot. Because that's exactly that. When you go there and you hear media, it's so funny because it's.
It's night and day, you know, when you're actually down there. So they're, they're great people. They're really wonderful, nice people.
David Wheeler:And did you see anybody causing violence or creating any disturbances that were worth calling out the National Guard?
Pamela Hemphill:No. I saw one video where a man had spit on an officer and then they took him down pretty heavy. However, that was a video I saw. I never would.
And that is not okay. We do not spit on officers. That's. I don't. That's not okay.
But you're going to have a bad apple or bad player in there that's going to do something, you know, stupid and. But the rest, no. I witnessed this girl, she backs up, she puts her hands up. We've become good friends now.
And they pepper sprayed her 2 inches from her face. And both of the officers were laughing. I saw it. And then she's screaming she can't breathe because it was right up in her face.
And they sprayed it for a long time. A huge amount of spray went right on her face. No mask, no gear. That one really still disturbed me a lot.
It makes you want to cry when you see those kind of things. But all of them are stupid. Like maybe on the blue line an inch, your foot is an inch, you're not over them. Just ridiculous. I.
Sometimes you don't even know why they got arrested. I'm asking everybody, why did that person get. Do you. Do you have any idea what happened? No. As far as we see, nothing.
Some of them are saying they're doing that they want their phones so they just tag you. They tag people and Then an hour later, they come out and get you. One night there was 30, don't quote me, maybe 40.
The big geared ones that look like the army. I mean, chasing this one person down the street. It scared the hell. I was like, what is going on for one person? This lady was.
This lady's videotaping and I'm behind her. She kind of tripped just a little bit because she was right by the mailbox. The guy, the officer pushed her shoulder.
Two other officers came over, thinking that maybe she's bothering that officer, and they took her down to the ground. Oh, my God. She didn't even mean to fall. You know, she was tripping a little. She wasn't going after the officer.
Yeah, Everyone that they're arresting is ridiculous. It's just.
David Wheeler:And what about you? Any interaction with any of these officers to have a civil discussion or.
Pamela Hemphill:I don't dare I tell you. I feel like I'm in Germany because of who I am. You know, I. I'm not giving them nothing. I'm staying on the other side.
I'm on the side of the facility, but I'm on the sidewalk a little ways from them. I'm not interacting with them. You know, they would love to get me on something, something. And I'm not giving. No, that's the problem.
I can't get close enough to get better video right now, because I'm not. And of course, all the mega media and podcasters are right up there, right in front of their face. I don't think they would do anything to them.
I don't trust them. Because it does feel like you're in Germany right now. It does. Like they'll just pick on anybody for any reason.
David Wheeler:And. And they're not accountable to anybody for the most part. Although the judging.
It looks like the judge in Illinois is putting some restrictions on them, which is great. What about MAGA instigators? Is there anybody that you've kind of suspected is there to start fights?
Pamela Hemphill:All of them. Okay, let me talk about Nick first. Nick Sawyer. What had happened? He'd gone around and was picking on all the female protesters. Right.
And this one protester, a female. Notice this and see when you start doing that. Now, if you're just walking around recording, reporting, they don't bother you. They.
They just leave you alone because you have a right to be there. Right. But when you start doing this harassment where you can rile somebody up, they don't want you there because it. It starts a disturbance. Right.
e. Too. He, he told me, I got:So he's going around, she confronts him and wants him to go. And when they want you to go, what they'll do is surround you, but they're not going to hurt you. They're just trying to get you to get out of there.
And if you want to come back and be decent, you could come back. But he had put his arm up, he had shoved her. And he's by this bed. It's like a.
It would probably at one time been a flower bed, but it was full of grass.
One lady put her umbrella not open, though it was closed, between him and the other female protester because the way he was acting, to make sure they're separate, right? He turns and falls into the bed, right? He's telling everybody they pushed me and that's how I broke my camera. And they were trying to attack me.
He spend everything that really happened. Now, I didn't catch everything, but I went up to him, I said, tell me the truth, because if somebody has hit you, I'm going to confront them.
It is not okay for you to be hit by anybody. He wouldn't tell me a word, not a word. And then Katie, I forgot her last name right now, Davis Court. She was following a 17 year old and her friends.
I what I heard she was trying to find their safe house. Oh my God. There's no safe house. And the wind was blowing real hard and the pole with the wind. Katie got real close to her, which you don't do.
Plus the girls are looking back and here's her bodyguard with a gun. He's a bodyguard. They're scared to death. They don't know who these people are. They don't know the reporters, right? They're just young girls.
They're so. They're walking faster because they're scared somebody's coming to kidnap them or whatever they're going to do.
When she gets too close to the protester and the pole barely hit her in the eye, just a little. Gave her a little mark. But that was her own fault.
I don't know if you've been to event and behind flags, but if you're not careful, you'll run right into it, right? And that's similar to what happened. So I told Katie, don't put out any propaganda what happened. You know, they don't tell you though.
They wait till they get on the news and spin it. But nobody had hit her. Nobody hit her on purpose. That, that was an outright lie. Hello?
David Wheeler:Go ahead, Mo, your turn.
Colonel Moe Davis:Oh, sorry about that. Yeah, we'll, yeah, we can, we can edit that part out. Pam. You know, we had some folks on earlier this week coupled down in Florida.
Husband's a Vietnam War veteran, no criminal record, but he, he's doing postcards, you know, to elected officials, and he'd sent one to the chief financial officer in Florida. And all the postcard said was, you lack values.
And then a couple weeks later, he's got two armed police officers with bulletproof vests knocking on his door, wanting to talk to him about the postcard. And then you've got, you know, what's happening out in Portland.
You've got, you know, John Bolton just got indicted yesterday, and James Comey and, And all of that.
It seems like this whole thing is just an effort to intimidate people and shut them up and, you know, let Trump and his cronies do whatever they want. Is. Is that your impression?
Pamela Hemphill:Absolutely. And you can't allow the fear to get in your way. You just can't allow it. Otherwise, they're winning. You know, bullies. What, what happens with bullies?
You know, you let them keep bullying you and they'll keep it up. You have to take a stand at some point.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah, well, I was glad to hear, you know, you, you know, you were saying before you got the letter from Mike Pence that you were getting kind of down and, you know, wondering whether the effort was worth it. But it sounds like you're re. Energized and are still, still, still out there, taking it to them and standing up for democracy.
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah, I think it's because I was lied to about the election being stolen. Went to prison for 60 days listening to their propaganda and Trump's brainwashing, you know, he hijacked their brain.
They're coming after me, but they're really coming after you. I stand in the way. So he made himself a king, you know, a savior. And I believed all that.
I thought the Democrats were communists and they were going to take away all our. What, the projection was them. They're the ones doing what I thought the Democrats were doing back then.
And so now I know I'm on the right side of history. And so I, My gloves, my gloves are off for me verbally, you know, where I share what I say. I don't care.
Because now it's all about the truth, the facts, and that's all that matters to me.
Even if they were hitting innocent, you know, the officers, I would have reported that because you can't be on either side when you're out there in Portland, you've got to be honest with people and tell them what you really see it. And I thought, I will. I'll. I'll. If I see violence, I'll report it. But I. There's nothing out there.
There's nothing to report except for ICE and MEGA coming there and causing all the chaos.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yeah. It seems like, you know, there's an effort to try to provoke, you know, some kind of a.
Pamela Hemphill:Yes.
Colonel Moe Davis:A violent response. And I think, you know, then they'll use that as justification for martial law.
ow, Trump said when he ran in: Pamela Hemphill:Yeah.
Colonel Moe Davis: not have midterm elections in: Pamela Hemphill:That's a very scary thought, huh?
Colonel Moe Davis:It is.
Pamela Hemphill:I don't see that happening, though. I think the people are rising up like they're. The problem is they underestimate the Democrats. They really do. They think people don't even have guns.
I mean, you know, my neighbor in South Carolina, we have guns. I said, well, don't use them. But, you know, they underestimate the Democrats. I think they're stronger and smarter than they really realize.
We got some good people in Congress right now doing all they can to push back. We need to support them. Need to support them and tell them.
Colonel Moe Davis: need to elect more of them in:You go back a few years, you were part of the. You know, you're on the other side. And, you know, you mentioned facts.
You know, I posted something a week or so ago about, you seen what was happening with farmers because of the tariffs in soybean farmers. You know, last year, they sold. Over half of all the soybeans grown in America were sold to China.
And now because of the tariffs, China's not buying any. And I posted on social media, it was just showing soybean prices. When Trump was in office the first time, I think it was like $12 a bushel.
When Biden was in office, they're like $16 a bushel, and now they're $10 a bushel because there's no market for soybeans. And I had someone on the other side, a couple of folks on the other side, you know, oh, you know, you're a libtard and that's fake news.
And it was just facts, you know, it was data. But the other side, it doesn't seem to matter what the facts are that they just instantly dismiss anything that runs contrary to the narratives.
How do we punch through that bubble? Or can we.
Pamela Hemphill:No, you can't, because he's programmed him to believe no matter what we're showing them, it's fake. It's already programmed to not look at that, even though it's factual. It might even be coming from Trump.
You know, I mean, that's how delusional and programmed they are. They are not going to believe anything we're saying or doing right now. It's going to take a decade to get these people unprogrammed.
But I wouldn't worry about what this. And they're just repeating Trump. That's all right.
Colonel Moe Davis:Well, do you have hope? I mean, obviously, you know, you've, you saw the light and, and, you know, came back to, back to reality.
Do you have hope that there are a lot more Pam Hemphills out there?
Pamela Hemphill:Not in the mega side? No, I think they're too far gone right now. I have hope and faith in the Democrat Party, period. I believe in them. I know they're good people.
They love this nation. They're real patriots and they will save our democracy. I, I truly believe that because evil never wins. It only delays. Right there. This is a delay.
We're going to come out well, and it's going to be hard and tough and it might take a little while, but because history proves it. When has fascism ever won in the world? Never. Yeah, because the good people stand up.
Colonel Moe Davis:Well, now that you've kind of got your second wind, what's, what's the future hold for you?
Pamela Hemphill:Well, I don't know yet. You know, I kind of take it a day at a time.
I probably may end up going back to Portland if the National Guard or the Insurrection act is put in place. We'll see. I miss those people that became like my family.
I mean, I've got about 2:20 that I just missed dearly and made a good friend with two doctors. I mean, can you believe the doctors are out there? I was surprised. So we'll see. That's what I'm, I'm hoping I can get back to Portland.
I want to tell you real quick before I forget. I, I'm wearing On the London Telegram, I have an article out that they interviewed me when I was down there.
And they show a picture of this bracelet that I'm wearing. It's black and it's worth more than a million dollars. It's made out of the rubber bullets that were shot on the protesters.
So it makes me cry when I wear it. But that's.
This is my way of remembering that these people are suffering for us, taking all the risks that they're taking just to stand up for our democracy. And I hope you can do anything you can to help them because they need our help.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yep.
David Wheeler:Well, we'll post a picture of that along with the, with the podcast so people can see it. And then is there anywhere that people could. You would suggest people go to support the protesters or any advice?
Pamela Hemphill:No. I don't know. They all put out their own individual link. Right now. I have them on my. I do have them on X.
That a couple of them supporting Robbie Road steamer.
David Wheeler:And Robbie is unbelievable, isn't he?
Pamela Hemphill:Yeah. I have video with him. I'm. I got him. I got there just on time after you got arrested. So we're dancing.
You know, I thought, oh, we're going to get arrested for dancing. And then there's that young lady that got the pepper spray 2 inches to her face.
Colonel Moe Davis:She's.
David Wheeler:Yeah, I saw that. I saw that video. That was very disturbing.
Pamela Hemphill:Very disturbing. So I put links to there because, you know, I can't, you know, I don't take any money for anybody.
But I, I will be posting their links if you want any of my X pages. Pam Hempfield, 79.
David Wheeler:All right, Pam. Yeah, let's give us, give us those again so folks can go follow you and follow your work.
Pamela Hemphill:Okay. All righty.
David Wheeler:So what are they, Pam?
Pamela Hemphill:Oh, I don't have it in front of me. They're on my.
David Wheeler:Okay.
Pamela Hemphill:They're on my X page.
David Wheeler:Okay, cool. I will, I'll. We'll add that to the end of the podcast here in our wrap up and make sure that folks have those.
But Pam, hey, thank you so much for coming back to talk to us. You know, you're a hero of, of mine. I think your message is the right message. It's not about you. It's about our country and democracy and, and mo.
And I really want to thank you for coming on. Muck you again.
Colonel Moe Davis:Yep, absolutely.
Pamela Hemphill:Oh, but no, thank you. You're the heroes and those protesters out there, the true patriots.
Together we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna make this country back to being a democracy again.
David Wheeler:All right.
Colonel Moe Davis:I'm glad you're on our side.
Pamela Hemphill:Oh, me too.
David Wheeler:Yeah, yeah. You know, just one more thing, Pam. You know, we've got these no Kings events coming up tomorrow.
What, you know, give some advice to people on, on what they should expect and, and what, what is the right etiquette at these events?
Pamela Hemphill:Well, this is just my thoughts is that a red state like I'm in right now won't be that. I don't think it'd be that dangerous. They're putting out, you know, a lot of stuff to be careful that Trump wants to do this.
It is in the project:We're all black. Look like they, you know, they call them antifas. We're all black. You know, wear a frog suit.
Go laugh at his threats and what he's going to do with this event tomorrow. We don't care because we're going to stand up for our democracy no matter what Trump is threatening to do, because we're not listening to him.
We're listening to ourselves and knowing that we're doing the right thing by standing up against this government and we're going to continue. So you got to have a message if it's how you're dressed, be no matter what. We're always peaceful.
You see anybody not being peaceful, ask them to leave. They have some guidelines and some suggestions. They're not rules, but for you to follow.
And I would hope that you read those and follow them exactly what they're asking. But get out there. Get out there. Don't let Trump scare you.
David Wheeler:Exactly. Exactly. Well, that is such great advice. And again, this has been muck you with Colonel Mo Davis. I'm David Wheeler.
And again, thank you to Pamela Hemphill for joining us again today.
Pamela Hemphill:Thank you.
